Biography

Steven LaPlante is a nurse practitioner and a registered nurse first assistant (RNFA). He received his Master of Science in nursing from Sage Graduate School in Troy, NY. Steven began his nursing studies at Clinton Community College in Plattsburgh, NY, earning his Associate of Science in nursing. He also earned a Bachelor of Arts in studio art and art history from the State University of New York at Plattsburgh in Plattsburgh, NY.

Steven came to the Capital District area for the wide range of outstanding clinical care, education, and research. In 1998, he began working with the developmentally disabled population and saw firsthand the care they received from the nurses and decided this is what he wanted to do. Steven loves working directly with patients and positively impacting their lives. He believes listening and seeing each patient as a person and treating them how he would want to be treated is most important for quality care. Steven understands that each person is unique, and there is no one-size-fits-all treatment. Throughout his experience, patients have taught him patience and to be a good listener.

Steven enjoys sportsman activities, spending time with friends and family, and any chance to watch fireworks.
