Biography

Kristi Zalinka is a Mental Health Counselor and works as a Behavioral Health Consultant (BHC) on our Integrated Behavioral Health team. BHCs at Community Care Physicians are mental health providers and social workers. Many are embedded within our practices working side by side with your doctor and health care team to deliver the best “whole person” healthcare possible.

Kristi has experience working with adult individuals through an employee assistance program. She has treated anxiety, depression, stress management, work performance/stress, and life transitions. Kristi has also had some experience in crisis management/intervention, along with co-facilitating a women’s group focusing on self-care, emotional intelligence, and self-empowerment. Kristi is a member of the American Counseling Association.

Kristi decided to enter the mental health field because she thinks that everyone deserves to have a place to be heard, validated, and understood. Kristi believes that people often know what they want their lives to look like, but there are often barriers to achieving that change and reaching their goals. Working through those barriers is crucial to achieving change. Because everyone is unique in their experiences that may have contributed to those barriers, Kristi likes to take a holistic, person-centered approach to her work.

Kristi loves attending concerts. She is also a huge animal lover, particularly cats. In her spare time, Kristi enjoys playing video games and listening to music.
