Karen Bedell is a board-certified family nurse practitioner with over 20 years of experience working in healthcare, specifically in the emergency room. She received her Master of Science in nursing from SUNY POLY in Utica, New York, and her Bachelor of Science in nursing from SUNY IT in Utica, New York. Karen is a member of the American Association of Nurse Practitioners, American Nurses Association, Nurse Practitioner Association New York State, Emergency Nurses Association, and Sigma Theta Tau, the international society of nursing. She has a particular interest in emergency room nursing. Karen is still passionate about her work in the ER with all her years of experience in the field!
Karen comes from a long line of nurses, including her mother, grandmother, and two aunts. She was always exposed to a life of patient care and grew to love the field. Helping others and seeing her patients’ growth each step of the way is what Karen loves most about her job. She believes looking at the patient as a whole and having open communication is key to providing quality care.
Karen is originally from the Albany, NY area. In her spare time, she loves going on cruises and traveling to different places.
