Biography

To make a difference in someone’s life, you don’t have to be brilliant, rich, beautiful, or perfect. You just have to care.

Courtney Peck is a board-certified family nurse practitioner and member of the American Nurses Association, the New York State Nurses Association, the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners, and the National Association of Pediatric Nurse Practitioners. She received her Master of Science in nursing from SUNY Polytechnic Institute in Utica, NY. Courtney began her studies at Russell Sage College in Troy, NY, earning her Bachelor of Science in nursing.

From a young age, Courtney knew she wanted to pursue a career in healthcare. As she saw various family members suffer from health ailments throughout her life, she became more drawn to the idea of “nursing” people back to health and decided to go to college to become a registered nurse. She began her nursing career in the neonatal intensive care unit at our local children’s hospital, where she cared for critically ill newborns and their families. Courtney also worked in adult and pediatric case management. These experiences influenced her to pursue her advanced nursing degree to take on a more proactive approach to patient care. Her most prominent memories from her years working in healthcare are the patients and families whom she was able to connect with; not only did Courtney impact their life, they significantly impacted hers as well.

Working in the acute care hospital setting allowed Courtney to gain an appreciation for treating patients experiencing some of their worst and scariest days; conversely, working in the outpatient healthcare setting has allowed her to see the tremendous impact that can be made by forming lasting relationships with patients and providing a proactive approach to patient’s health over time, thereby reducing or eliminating the likelihood that they will end up in the hospital. Courtney looks forward to building strong relationships with her patients and their families and having a proactive impact on the health of her patients.

She believes the most important thing when caring for patients is communicating clearly, considering all factors, and developing a mutually agreed-upon plan based on shared decision-making. If you’re looking for a provider passionate about helping patients achieve their optimal health and quality of life, Courtney is the nurse practitioner for you. Courtney is interested in working with the pediatric population, disease prevention, skin concerns, and dermatology. She enjoys forming genuine connections and rapport with her patients and their families and seeing them reap the benefits of implementing lifestyle practices that enhance their lives and help them feel their best.

Courtney was born and raised in the Capital Region. Outside work, she enjoys spending time with family, friends, and her kitties, traveling to new parts of the world, reading, and kayaking.
