Dr. Michael Bertram graduated and completed his doctoral thesis in Freiburg, Germany, in 1968 and has been practicing medicine ever since. Born under Hitler, he survived the bombing of Dresden as a refugee from Silesia. Dr. Bertram lived under Stalin and then fled to West Germany in 1950. He then left Germany in 1970 and came to the United States. After deciding to settle in Upstate New York and practicing for 20+ years, he met Dr. Shirish Parikh, founder of Community Care Physicians (CCP), and joined CCP as of 1996.
Dr. Bertram is a seasoned diver with almost 1,000 dives and still goes on excursions to this day. He has been on 18 trips to the Caribbean and has been frequenting the Cayman Island with his wife for the last 40 years. Traveling is one of his favorite things to do, and he has visited over 80 countries around the globe. He has also played tennis since he was 15 years old and continues to hit the court twice a week! Dr. Bertram loves learning and does so through his photography and reading. He believes in learning something new each and every day!
