Ashley Willson is a registered dietitian, registered dietitian nutritionist, and a certified diabetes care and education specialist. Her areas of expertise include weight management, prediabetes and diabetes, metabolic syndrome, cardiovascular health, sports nutrition, and women’s health, particularly during the perimenopausal and menopausal stages.
Ashley earned her Bachelor of Science in nutritional sciences from Russell Sage College in Troy, NY, and completed her dietetic internship at the University of Delaware in Newark, DE. She is a proud member of the Association of Diabetes Care and Education Specialists.
Drawn to health and wellness from a young age, Ashley originally considered a career in dentistry. However, after taking her first nutrition class in college, she discovered her true passion. As a former college athlete, she quickly recognized the powerful role nutrition plays in performance, recovery, and overall well-being. This realization sparked her commitment to helping others harness the benefits of nutrition in their own lives.
Ashley is known for her compassionate, honest, and supportive approach to patient care. She values getting to know her patients and walking alongside them on their health journeys. She believes that truly listening to patients and creating a judgment-free space are essential in helping them achieve lasting change.
“If someone is ready to stop extreme dieting, eliminate negative diet culture narratives, and build confidence in their nutrition habits, I’m here to help,” Ashley says. “Together, we’ll create a realistic roadmap toward health goals and a more positive relationship with food.”
Her approach to nutrition is grounded in both professional experience and personal growth. She understands the challenges of maintaining a healthy lifestyle and emphasizes practical strategies that fit seamlessly into everyday life.
Ashley grew up in the foothills of the Adirondacks, near the Great Sacandaga Lake Region, and has remained rooted in the Capital Region throughout her education and career. She has provided nutritional care across various settings in the area and enjoys giving back to the community through local races and golf events that support charitable causes.
An outdoor enthusiast, Ashley loves running, mountain biking, hiking, skiing, kayaking, and playing golf. She also trains for endurance races, completing the Boston, NYC, and Chicago Marathons. In her downtime, she enjoys reading, relaxing with her two beloved dogs, and spending time with family and friends.
