Biography

Ji Yoon “Angie” Kim received her Doctor of Pharmacy at the Massachusetts College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences in Boston, MA. She is a member of the American Pharmacist Association, the American Society of Health-System Pharmacists, the Phi Lambda Sigma, and the Rho Chi Society. Angie speaks Korean natively. She completed her community-based residency at Western New England University/Walgreens in Springfield, MA. Angie’s medical interests include the management of chronic diseases, including diabetes, hypertension, and heart failure, and specialty pharmacy.

Angie’s interest in science and medicine, combined with the desire to make a positive community impact through direct patient interaction and health education, drew her to practice as an ambulatory care pharmacist. Her favorite part of being a pharmacist is empowering patients to take an active role in their health management and self-care, leading to better health outcomes and improved overall well-being. Angie believes viewing patients as whole individuals, considering not only their medical history but also their social, emotional, and cultural factors that may impact their health, is the most important thing. She aims to elevate community health literacy and advance inclusive, accessible healthcare for every patient.

Angie is originally from Seoul, South Korea. She volunteers at the Regional Food Bank of Northeastern New York. Angie has been playing the violin since she was eight and enjoys karaoke nights with friends and family.
