Gabrielle DeGiorgio is a Mental Health Counselor and works as a Behavioral Health Consultant (BHC) on our Integrated Behavioral Health team. BHCs at Community Care Physicians are licensed mental health providers and social workers. Many are embedded within our practices working side by side with your doctor and health care team in delivering you the best “whole person” healthcare possible. Gabrielle is a member of the American Psychological Association, the American Counseling Association, and the Psi Chi Honor Society.

Gabrielle’s experience includes counseling individuals and treating a wide range of mental and behavioral health issues, including anxiety, depression, chronic stress, grief, and trauma. She also helps patients with various interpersonal problems/life stressors and coping with chronic illnesses. In addition to counseling, she also worked as a teacher assistant at local schools and at the Pride Center of the Capital Region.

Gabrielle has always been interested in the mind-body connection and how we can use knowledge of this connection to live full, healthy lives. Her personal struggles with chronic illness influenced this significantly. After spending a year learning more about behavioral health and specific topics such as stress illness, and medically unexplained symptoms, both of which address a patient’s mind, body, and behavior and how these are interwoven, pursuing work in behavioral health in primary care seemed natural for her. Gabrielle’s favorite part is helping people live their best lives. She says the greatest thing is when someone feels better than they did prior to working with her.

Gabrielle enjoys cooking, hiking, and camping with her partner in her spare time. Nature photography has been her artistic outlet for nearly 15 years and counting!
