Knowledge is power. The more you know about your medical problem, the better you can manage it.
Seana Mosher is a certified physician assistant. She has been in the medical field since 2006 and is a member of the New York State Society of PAs and the American Academy of Physician Associates. Seana’s background includes working in the emergency room, urgent care, and internal medicine, which, all together, have made her an expert in transitional care. Transition of care has become such a strong focus. She sees what patients and families have gone through before, during, and after hospitalization and how overwhelming it can be. Seana likes that she can be there during this critical time and finds it so rewarding to help patients during this process. She received her Master of Science in Physician Assistant Studies from Albany Medical College in Albany, NY, and completed her Bachelor of Science in biology at SUNY Albany in Albany, NY. Seana also holds an associate’s degree in physical therapy from Maria College in Albany, NY, and an associate’s degree in science from Adirondack Community College in Queensbury, NY.
Seana has always loved science and biology, especially human biology. Initially, she was interested in physical therapy but quickly realized she wanted more direct patient care, which led her to PA school. Throughout her years in healthcare, she was also a patient herself. She understands how a patient wants to be treated and strives to provide that care. Seana loves many things about her job, but one of her favorites is when she can noticeably see the progress a patient is making, like when she sees them begin to understand their condition and take control of it. She also loves connecting with her patients, when a patient can open up without hesitation, and getting to the bottom of an issue and figuring out a diagnosis to get that patient on track.
Seana believes that everything you do as a practitioner becomes important. She often finds that medicine is not always the most important, especially to the patient. It is the rapport, the listening, and the fact that the person in front of you matters. She says it’s not unusual for her to recall the names of family members or pets. Seana believes that building a solid provider-patient relationship will lead to quality care.
Seana is originally from the Capital Region area. She loves the Adirondacks but enjoys traveling whenever she gets the chance. Seana enjoys riding her motorcycle and sailboat in the Summer and skiing in the Winter. She has two boys who keep her on her toes with homework and sports. She also enjoys spending time with her group of friends, whether it’s for brunch or a relaxing Sunday afternoon.
