Dr. Richard Simmons is board certified in neurology with a special certification in child neurology. After receiving his bachelor’s degree at Union College in Schenectady, NY, he continued to Drexel University College of Medicine in Philadelphia, PA, where he received his medical degree. Dr. Simmons completed his internship in pediatrics at the Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital in Bew Brunswick, NJ. Both of his trainings in neurology as well as child neurology were completed at SUNY Buffalo and the Women and Children’s Hospital of Buffalo in Buffalo, NY. His final year of training was spent as Chief Resident of neurology and child neurology.
Currently, Dr. Simmons lives in the Clifton Park area of NY with his wife and four children. On top of being an active member of the American Academy of Neurology, he serves on the Professional Advisory Board for the Epilepsy Foundation of Northeastern, NY. Dr. Simmons is also a member of the Child Neurology Society and the American Epilepsy Society.
