Dr. Lisa Thorn has served patients in Rensselaer County for over 28 years as a board-certified family physician. She received her medical degree at Albany Medical College, NY, and completed a family medicine residency at St. Clare’s Hospital in Schenectady, NY. Dr. Thorn is also Medical Director at Eddy Village Green at Beverwyck in Slingerlands, NY.

Dr. Thorn was five years old when she realized she wanted to pursue a career in medicine. It was her family’s female primary care physician who served as her mentor and inspiration. She loves getting to know patients and extended families and providing comfort during difficult times. Dr. Thorn has a particular interest in end-of-life care.

Outside of medicine, Dr. Thorn volunteers at St John’s Episcopal Church in Troy, NY, including participating in medical mission trips to Haiti! She resides in Averill Park with her husband, Mike Hanna, a professor at RPI, and their two daughters. Dr. Thorn also enjoys woodworking and music.
