Lauren Blaauboer-Kent is a Licensed Mental Health Counselor and Behavioral Health Consultant (BHC) in CCPs Integrated Behavioral Health practice. BHCs at Community Care Physicians are licensed mental health providers and social workers. Many are embedded within our practices working side by side with your doctor and healthcare team in delivering you the best “whole person” healthcare possible.
Lauren completed her master’s degree in mental health counseling from the University at Albany in Albany, NY. She has experience working as a school-based clinician. While there, she conducted weekly individual therapy sessions, implementing both CBT and DBT skills and techniques with children whose diagnoses related to behavioral/emotional concerns. She conducted family therapy sessions focusing on family intervention, parent-child relationships, and barriers in treatment. Lauren’s work has also included crisis intervention and de-escalation techniques, comprehensive assessments, treatment plans, safety plans, and risk assessment along with anxiety, depression, ADHD, and adjustment disorders. She enjoys working with clients and their families and utilizes a strengths-based approach to help patients succeed. What she loves most about her job is building relationships.
Outside helping patients, she enjoys spending time with friends and family, hiking, and attending concerts. Lauren also likes to spend her time outdoors and by the beach!
