Dr. Jason Lieu is a board-certified family physician specializing in the care of adult patients. He speaks Cantonese and Vietnamese fluently and Mandarin conversationally. Dr. Lieu received his Doctor of Medicine from Ross University School of Medicine in Dominica, West Indies. He completed his internship and family practice residency at Ellis Hospital in Schenectady, New York. Dr. Lieu began his studies at Siena College in Loudonville, New York, earning his Bachelor of Science in biology.
Dr. Lieu was fascinated by sciences and developed an interest in biology and the human body systems during high school. Subsequently, he decided to further study biology and pursue medicine to become a medical doctor in hopes of helping people in need for the better and to maintain good health. Dr. Lieu has a particular interest in preventative medicine, promoting good health through active healthy lifestyle medicine, and hypertension, dyslipidemia, diabetes, and obesity management. Dr. Lieu believes effective communication, reflective listening, treating patients as a whole, and being compassionate and sensitive to patients are important in patient care and especially in primary care medicine. Dr. Lieu said, “I treat all my patients like they are my family members.”
Outside of medicine, Dr. Lieu enjoys spending time with his children and family. He also enjoys trail walking, running, hiking, and cooking in his spare time.
