Dr. Daniel Papa is a board-certified family physician and member of the American Academy of Family Physicians. He received his medical degree from Albany Medical College in Albany, NY, and completed his family medicine residency at Albany Medical Center in Albany, NY. Dr. Papa began his studies at Siena College in Loudonville, NY, earning his Bachelor of Arts degree in biology.
Dr. Papa’s interest in medicine began in high school. His passion for community service and science led him to the Siena College-Albany Medical College Science, Humanities, and Medicine joint acceptance program. While in medical school, he was drawn to Family Medicine because of its emphasis on preventive care, long-term therapeutic relationships, and lifestyle medicine. He was fortunate to be involved in the Albany Medical College tobacco cessation service learning program, where he provided education and support to hospitalized patients who wished to quit smoking.
Dr. Papa enjoys meeting patients wherever they are in their journey toward better health and helping them achieve their goals. He believes that listening to patients with a nonjudgmental attitude is most important. He treats a wide variety of conditions for patients of all ages using up-to-date, evidence-based methods. Within family medicine, he has a particular interest in diabetes, behavioral health (depression, anxiety, substance use), and weight management.
Dr. Papa is originally from Long Island, NY, and relocated to the Capital Region for his medical training. He enjoys spending time with family and friends, trying new restaurants, reading, and hiking.
