Blakely Brown is a Mental Health Counselor and works as a Behavioral Health Consultant (BHC) in Integrated Behavioral Health. BHCs at Community Care Physicians are embedded within our practices working side by side with your doctor and healthcare team in delivering you the best “whole person” healthcare possible

Blakely has experience with individuals, groups, and families. She has worked with children, adolescents, and young adults and a variety of disorders, including, but not limited to, trauma and stress disorders, ADHD, generalized anxiety and other anxiety disorders, autism spectrum disorder, depressive disorders, and disruptive, impulse-control, and conduct disorders.

Blakely discovered her passion for mental health early with her own life experiences and those of people close to her. These shaped her desire to help others through their mental health journeys. Additionally, a psychology class in high school and her work with the Middle Earth peer support program at the University at Albany deepened that interest. Her professional experiences have also fueled a strong interest in integrated care, especially after working with individuals struggling with substance use and seeing firsthand the gaps in services supporting whole-person care.

Blakely’s favorite part of her professional role is helping individuals improve, feel better, and be proud of the progress they’ve made. She’s endlessly fascinated by the complexity of the human brain, and uses this interest for ongoing learning for both herself and in providing psychoeducation to empower her patients.

Outside of work, Blakely is involved with the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention, specifically helping to organize the Out of the Darkness Walk. She’s also a member of Rotary International. In her free time, she loves relaxing with her dog Max and her chosen family, playing video games, and getting lost in fantasy novels. Her favorite time of year? Fall—without question.
