Abdul Azad, MD, MPH, FCCP is board certified in internal medicine and pulmonary medicine. He received his medical degree from Dhaka Medical College in Dhaka, Bangladesh. His residency was completed at St. Vincent’s Hospital and both is fellowships were completed at Albany Medical Center in Pulmonary Medicine and Critical Care Medicine. Dr. Azad is a member of the American College of Physicians, the American College of Chest Physicians, the American Thoracic Society, and the Medical Society of the State of New York. In addition to English, Dr. Azad is fluent in Bengali, Hindi, and Urdu.
Seeing the difference his treatments make in his patients’ lives is truly his favorite thing about his day. Dr. Azad has a special interest in treating patients with Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD) and interstitial lung diseases which are diseases that cause scarring, or fibrosis, of the lungs.
Dr. Azad is part of ethnic physicians organizations throughout the Capital Region and his community. He enjoys learning and participating in various moral and ethical discussions around medicine. When he isn’t playing a critical role in his patients’ lives, Dr. Azad can be found surrounded by music, whether he’s playing instruments or just listening!
