Safety and Cleaning Procedures in ImageCare Medical Imaging – Keeping Our Family and Yours Safe

While we can’t control COVID-19, we can control the safety of our patients and staff in our offices. We have rigorous measures in place to ensure your safety in our ImageCare Medical Imaging locations.

We take extra care during these extraordinary times to keep you safe during your visit with us.

It’s understandable that you may have concerns about coming to a doctor’s office during the 2019 coronavirus disease (COVID-19) pandemic. We strongly support the CDC guidelines to stay home when possible and practice social distancing at all times, but healthcare is also essential – it’s important to not put your healthcare needs on hold, especially since we don’t know when this situation will end. We want to reassure you that ImageCare Medical Imaging offices are safe to visit.

While we can’t control COVID-19, we can control the safety of our patients and staff in our offices. We have rigorous measures in place to ensure your safety in our ImageCare Medical Imaging locations. We have a long-standing reputation for maintaining the highest standards of quality and safety, and this COVID-19 pandemic has not changed that. NYU Langone has a long-standing reputation for maintaining the highest standards of quality and safety, and the pandemic has not changed that.

Safety in our Freestanding Imaging Locations

We have taken extraordinary precautions to make sure our ImageCare locations are safe for our ImageCare family and yours. Our enhanced safety protocols include:

  • Telephone screening when scheduling your appointment over the phone to ensure you aren’t experiencing COVID-19 symptoms or have a possible exposure
  • Temperature screening of every patient and visitor
  • Temperature screening of all staff
  • Enhanced exam room cleaning protocols throughout the day
  • Deep cleanings of facilities on a routine basis
  • Spaced waiting rooms
  • Spaced out exam schedule
  • Mandatory masks for patients and staff (personal protective equipment)
  • Limiting visitors during imaging exams

If you have COVID-19 symptoms, please do not arrive at our ImageCare Medical Imaging offices. We cannot see you in person while you’re symptomatic or if you have any acute (sudden, non-emergent) respiratory symptoms. This is due to the specific infectious disease protocols required for radiology equipment. However, we can help you find a different way to get care—such as through the imaging through the local hospitals (Albany Med, Ellis, Columbia Memorial Hospital), or by rescheduling your appointment for a later date.

When you come into ImageCare (or any Community Care Physicians’ office), you are expected to wear a mask or face covering in accordance with the current New York state guidelines. If you arrive without a mask, you’ll be given one to wear, but please do try to remember your face covering so we don’t exhaust our supply. Each person on our ImageCare team also wears personal protective equipment.

ImageCare Medical Imaging Services and Locations During COVID-19 Crisis

With our additional safety and cleaning precautions in place, ImageCare is actively phasing back into its current schedule all imaging modalities that were previously postponed due to COVID-19. These appointments don’t need to be postponed. We are confident we can expand our capabilities at ImageCare while keeping our patients safe, according to CDC and ACR guidelines.

To help us provide the safest possible environment for appointments in our ImageCare offices, we have  temporarily adjusted our locations and hours. When you make your appointment, we will be certain you are clear as to which location you’re visiting, and your appointment reminders will notify you as well.
