October 10 is World Mental Health Day, a time to raise awareness about mental health, reduce stigma, and remind one another that no one should have to navigate their mental health alone.
This year’s theme, “Lived Experiences Heard: Real Voices, Real Change,” highlights the importance of listening to people who have experienced mental health challenges. Every person’s experience is different, and creating space for people to share their stories can help build understanding, connection, and more compassionate support.
At Community Care Physicians, our Integrated Behavioral Health team believes that being heard, understood, and supported can make an important difference in a person’s overall well-being. Whether you are seeking support for yourself, helping a loved one, or simply looking to learn more about mental health, taking time to listen and start a conversation can be a meaningful first step.
Help Us Raise Awareness
There are several ways you can recognize World Mental Health Day and help remind others that mental health matters:
Explore mental health resources.
Stop by the main entrance at 6 Wellness Way on Friday, October 9, from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. to learn more about mental health resources and ways to support your well-being.
Share what being heard means to you.
Throughout the week leading up to World Mental Health Day, visit the The Power of Being Heard wall in the main entrance of Wellness Way. Add a message about what being heard, supported, or understood means to you. Your words may help someone else feel less alone.
Wear green and show your support.
Wear green or a green ribbon pin on October 9 to help raise awareness for mental health and show your support for creating a community where every voice is heard.
Share your support on social media.
If you wear green or participate in World Mental Health Day activities, share a photo on social media and tag Community Care Physicians so we can help spread your message and share your support with our community.
Mental health is part of overall health, and conversations about it can help create greater understanding and connection. This World Mental Health Day, let’s listen to real experiences, make space for every voice, and remind one another that support is available.
Together, we can help create a community where everyone feels heard, understood, and supported.
