Community Care Physicians PLLC (CCP), CDPHP, and Columbia Development Companies today broke ground on a three-story, 263,000 square foot, state-of-the-art medical arts complex located at 6 Autopark Drive in the Town of Colonie.

The new facility, to be built by BBL Medical Facilities, will be the new headquarters for CCP and CDPHP.

CCP will be the primary tenant in the facility and will move all clinical services currently offered at the Capital Region Health Park in Latham two miles away to Autopark Drive, which will be renamed Wellness Way to reflect the services being offered.

“CCP’s founding philosophy has always been to reduce the hassle factor for our patients and to provide a quality and satisfying experience for the patient and the provider,” said CCP Founder, Chairman, and CEO, Dr. Shirish Parikh. “Wellness Way will be a model example of providing a seamless healthcare delivery system to maintain a strong and meaningful patient-physician relationship.”

CCP specialties moving to Wellness Way include internal medicine, family medicine, pediatrics, OB/GYN, lab, urgent care, medical imaging, radiation oncology, urology, interventional radiology, vascular surgery, thyroid health, back and pain management, general surgery and endoscopy care, physical therapy, audiology, podiatry, and dermatology.

CCP plans to add rheumatology, developmental pediatrics, a dedicated space for behavioral health, an enlarged AAAASF procedure space to enable more surgical specialties, and an expanded cancer care program with medical and radiation oncology treatment combined in the new building. Additional specialties may be added in the future.

Wellness Way will provide greater access to timely, cost-effective, quality care for patients and growth for CCP.

The facility is also the next step in the integration of services between CCP and CDPHP, which recently announced a partnership to form a management services organization (MSO) to support all non-clinical functions for the CCP family of practices. The management teams from CCP and CDPHP will be co-located at Wellness Way.

“Today’s groundbreaking is yet another bold step forward in our move to create an integrated delivery system in the Capital Region and beyond,” said CDPHP President and CEO, Dr. John D. Bennett. “I want to thank Dr. Shirish Parikh and the entire team at Community Care Physicians for sharing in our mission of improving the quality, affordability, and experience of care in our community,” added Bennett.

CDPHP will also have an onsite pharmacy, CDPHP Connect Rx, and customer service center, CDPHP Customer Connect, where members can fill prescriptions and get insurance questions answered.

CCP consists of 1800 people, including more than 420 providers, all sharing one common purpose – to create healthy communities, one patient at a time. Once completed, the building will not only be home to CCP, the largest independent multispecialty practice in the region, but will also be the largest outpatient medical facility in the Capital District.

The complex at Wellness Way is designed with the patient experience in mind, with on-site cafés, more green space, electric car charging stations, heated sidewalks, several access points for patient drop-off, and greater opportunity for specialties to collaborate for patient care, regardless of insurance plan.

CCP has six other multispecialty health parks across the Capital Region. The future health park will be visible from the Northway and easily accessible by car and public transportation. CCP plans to move into the building in phases. The project has a target completion of all phases in early 2024.
