Biography

Xam Buenavista, PTA, is a licensed Physical Therapist Assistant who is passionate about helping patients regain mobility, reduce pain, and return to the activities they enjoy. He believes in providing compassionate, patient-centered care while building meaningful relationships with each individual throughout their recovery journey.

Xam earned his Bachelor of Science in Physical Therapy from Silliman University in Dumaguete City, Philippines, and is currently pursuing his Doctor of Physical Therapy degree through the University of Montana. He is licensed by the New York State Education Department as a Physical Therapist Assistant and is a member of the American Physical Therapy Association. His research has explored the use of telerehabilitation for managing low back pain among work-from-home employees, reflecting his commitment to advancing evidence-based care.

During his clinical training, Xam found working with patients recovering from injuries especially meaningful. Seeing firsthand how physical therapy helped people regain strength, mobility, and independence reinforced his passion for the profession. It inspired him to pursue a career focused on helping others recover and improve their quality of life.

Inspired by his own experience recovering from a serious ankle injury, Xam developed a deep appreciation for the impact physical therapy can have on a person’s quality of life. That experience fueled his desire to pursue a career where he could help others overcome injuries, restore function, and achieve their personal goals. He especially enjoys guiding patients through their rehabilitation and celebrating the milestones that help them return to work, sports, hobbies, and everyday activities with confidence.

Outside of work, Xam enjoys playing basketball, going to the gym, and playing video games.
