Vasantha Natarajan

Biography

Dr. Vasantha Natarajan is a board-certified internal medicine physician at Saratoga Medical Associates, where she cares for adult patients ages 18 and older. With over 20 years of experience caring for patients, she is dedicated to delivering compassionate, high-quality care with a strong emphasis on disease prevention and the management of chronic conditions. In addition to English, she is fluent in Tamil and Hindi.

Dr. Natarajan earned her medical degree from India and completed her internship and residency at Advocate Christ Medical Center, an affiliate of the University of Illinois. She also holds a Master of Business Administration from the Isenberg School of Management at the University of Massachusetts Amherst, as well as a certificate in Artificial Intelligence in Healthcare from Harvard Medical School, reflecting her interest in innovative, technology-driven approaches to patient care.

Dr. Natarajan also brings extensive administrative and leadership experience, including work with home care provider organizations and service as a Chief Medical Officer. Her background in both value-based and traditional care models informs her approach to delivering high-quality, patient-centered care.

Her clinical interests include preventive medicine and diabetes management. She is an active member of the American College of Physicians, the Society of Hospital Medicine, and the American Association for Homecare.

Originally from India, Dr. Natarajan was inspired to pursue medicine at a young age by her mother, who is also a physician. Observing the meaningful relationships her mother built with patients and the trust and gratitude they expressed played a pivotal role in shaping her own commitment to patient care.

Dr. Natarajan believes in treating the whole person, not just the disease. She emphasizes open communication and views her patients as partners in their care, working collaboratively to make informed decisions that promote long-term health and well-being. She finds the greatest professional fulfillment in building lasting relationships and helping her patients lead healthier lives.

Outside of medicine, Dr. Natarajan enjoys spending time with her family, cooking, and exploring her creativity through painting and the arts. As a long-time resident of the Capital District, she is also actively involved in community and nonprofit initiatives, including organizing annual 5K events and serving on nonprofit boards.
