Change Healthcare, which was previously a payment processing vendor for our billing system, Veradigm, did have a security incident. This past relationship is why CCP was named in letters our patients received.

Rodelin M. Sumiran

Biography

Rodelin Sumiran, known as Rodel, is a board-certified family nurse practitioner and a critical care registered nurse fluent in Filipino. His two-decade career in nursing has been a journey of growth and diverse experiences, from a bedside med-surg nurse to a nurse educator, a nurse manager, and a critical care nurse to a urology advanced practitioner. He earned his Master of Arts in nursing at the University of Santo Tomas Graduate School in Manila, Philippines, majoring in advanced nursing administration and advanced medical-surgical nursing. His dedication to learning led him to complete his post-master’s certificate of advanced studies in family nurse practitioner from SUNY Polytechnic Institute in Utica, NY. He also holds a Bachelor of Science in nursing from the University of Santo Tomas College of Nursing. Rodel is a proud member of the American Association of Critical Care Nurses, the American Nurses Association, and the Philippine Nurses Association of New York – Capital Region subchapter. He is dedicated to caring for adult patients at Community Care Urology in Latham, NY, and also serves at Ellis Hospital in Schenectady, NY.

Rodel has been drawn to nursing and the medical field since he was young, as he is very interested in helping and attending to the needs of sick people. He started working as a nurse when he was 20 years old and feels fulfilled whenever he sees people progress and improve. Rodel recalls the most memorable moment in his career when a patient of his from the past approached him in a grocery store and remembered him as one of the nurses who took care of him when he was in his weakest state. It gave Rodel a realization that the work that he does indeed makes a significant difference in a person’s life.

Rodel’s passion for his job is rooted in his ability to use his knowledge, skills, and talents to make a difference in people’s lives, whether big or small. His patients’ well-being is always his top priority, and he ensures they feel his genuine care in his pursuit to help them by providing high-quality, cost-effective, and safe medical care. As a nurse practitioner, Rodel is a dynamic, adaptive, and vital provider who significantly contributes to exceptional patient care and management. His nursing career is guided by the mantra ‘I sweat, I bleed, I soar,’ symbolizing his steadfast service, selfless sacrifice, and pursuit of excellence.

Rodel was born and raised in Antipolo City, Philippines, and immigrated to the United States in December 2014. He now resides in Niskayuna, NY, with his wife and daughters.
