The practice of medicine requires a clear head and a kind heart, for we are here to make the lives of others happier.
Olin Callaghan, PA-C is a certified registered physician assistant. He is a member of the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants, the American Academy of Physician Assistants, the American Medical Association, and the National Committee for Quality Assurance Diabetes Recognition Program. Olin received his associate’s degree in Physician Assistant Studies from Albany Medical College in Albany, NY. He began his studies at SUNY Plattsburgh in Plattsburgh, NY, earning his bachelor’s degree. Olin has participated in numerous research trials for asthma and allergies, including treatment modalities and new medications.
Olin decided to pursue medicine while working as a social worker. He saw many patients and community members who were underserved and felt he could make a difference. Also, after spending a great deal of time in the emergency room as a young, injured patient, he learned to appreciate the providers who were caring and compassionate. What Olin loves most about being a physician assistant is making a difference in his patients’ lives and acting as a tour guide and consultant in the often confusing world of healthcare. The most important thing he does is carefully listen to each patient and offer options to pursue better health. Olin’s patients know that he will go above and beyond to help them achieve a better quality of life. He has been entrusted with the care of his patients, and Olin believes this is a gift, which he cherishes every day. He likes to keep an open mind and a free spirit and work hard to care for those who seek his help.
Olin serves as a Board Member of the American Housing Foundation Inc., which provides affordable housing for seniors. He can speak French and Spanish conversationally. Born and raised in Delmar, NY, Olin is a husband, father, writer, and musician.
