EMR Upgrade throughout the weekend: CCP will be completing a scheduled upgrade to our electronic medical record (EMR) system to help enhance and support your care experience. Our practices remain accessible, on-call providers continue to be available, and Latham Urgent Care will remain open for urgent medical needs. Most of this work is happening behind the scenes. If you receive care this weekend, you likely won’t notice any difference, other than occasionally confirming information to ensure we have the most accurate details for your care. We appreciate your patience.

If you visit Urgent Care this weekend, it would be helpful to bring a current list of your medications. You should also expect paper prescriptions rather than electronic prescriptions during portions of the upgrade. Any other office-specific changes or instructions will be communicated directly by your practice, if needed. Please check your practice’s website for the latest updates.

Biography

“As a nurse, we have the opportunity to heal the heart, mind, soul, and body of our patients, their families, and ourselves. They may not remember your name, but they will never forget the way you made them feel.”- Maya Angelou

Morgan Slusarczyk is not just a family nurse practitioner; she is a highly qualified and experienced healthcare professional. She is a member of the Nurse Practitioner Association of NYS and the American Association of Nurse Practitioners. She earned her Master of Science in nursing, family nurse practitioner from SUNY Polytechnic Institute and her Bachelor of Science in nursing from the State University of New York at Plattsburgh. Her nursing journey began at Maria College, where she earned her Associate of Applied Science. Her diverse experience includes working in urgent care, neonatal, and adult intensive care. Her areas of interest include disease prevention/screening, pediatrics, women’s health, and dermatology, reflecting her commitment to comprehensive healthcare.

Nursing is nothing new to Morgan; her mother was a nurse for several decades. During her childhood, she would spend time at the nursing home where her mother worked and always enjoyed being in the presence of strangers and listening to their stories. A year into nursing school, Morgan’s healthy father fell ill from a stage 4 kidney cancer diagnosis, which solidified her decision to pursue a career in the medical field. Her favorite part is connecting with patients and being able to help them through all stages of life. She says, “Knowing that my care can make a difference in a patient’s life is one of the most rewarding feelings.” Morgan believes expressing empathy and compassion is a fundamental aspect of quality healthcare. As a nurse practitioner, she takes the time to get to know her patients and wants them to feel heard. She has been on the other side of healthcare and understands the feeling of not having a voice. Working with vulnerable populations like newborns and older people with multiple co-morbidities brings Morgan the most professional satisfaction.

Morgan’s professional life is not the only place where she values diversity. As a second-generation American, with a mother from the Philippines and a father from Poland, she understands the importance of cultural diversity in healthcare. Her multicultural background has given her a unique perspective and the ability to relate to a wide range of patients. Outside of work, she enjoys outdoor activities with her Australian shepherd and Goldendoodle, traveling, reading, and spending time with friends and family.
