Originally from Fulton, NY, Dr. Michael Holcomb is a resident physician at Albany Family Medicine in Albany, NY. He studied biology and psychology at the University of Rochester in Rochester, NY. Following this, Dr. Holcomb attended SUNY Upstate Medical University in Syracuse, NY. For him, family medicine is an appealing career choice because he is interested in forming long-term relationships with his patients to help them stay healthy and manage their medical conditions in the ways that best align with their values. Dr. Holcomb believes that a well-established culture of primary care focusing on preventive services is one of the most important components in making access to healthcare in this country more affordable and equitable for all. During medical school, he also found a passion for rural medicine, which further solidified his love for Upstate New York and all it offers. When not practicing medicine, Dr. Holcomb enjoys outdoor activities like hiking, kayaking, running, snowboarding, and disc golf. He is also an avid reader and enjoys playing the guitar and mandolin.
