Dr. Manish Mehta is board-certified in both general and vascular surgery. He completed his medical degree and master’s degree in public health from New York Medical College in Valhalla, NY, with honors. Dr. Mehta went on to complete his surgery residency at North Shore University Hospital NYU School of Medicine and his vascular fellowship at Montefiore Medical Center Albert Einstein College of Medicine.
Dr. Mehta started his career as a Vascular Surgeon at Albany Medical Center, where he worked as a professor of surgery for 15 years. During that time, Dr. Mehta pursued his passion in delivering the highest quality of vascular care for patients and finding minimally invasive solutions to complex vascular diseases. Dr. Mehta was the first to perform an endovascular repair of a ruptured abdominal aortic aneurysm in the Capital Region. He then led the development of numerous minimally invasive endovascular programs focused on aortic aneurysm repair, peripheral arterial occlusive disease, critical limb ischemia, and minimally invasive carotid intervention for stroke prevention at Albany Medical Center, Glens Falls Hospital, and Saratoga Hospital.
Dr. Mehta’s commitment to providing vascular education and empowering the public to better understand and manage their vascular health led him in 2004 to founding and currently serving as President and CEO of the Center for Vascular Awareness, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization. Dr. Mehta has founded and established numerous nationally and internationally recognized initiatives focused on vascular health education and awareness. These programs include:
- The Vascular Roundtable®, a CME-accredited vascular education & awareness program focused on educating primary physicians, specialists, and allied health care providers on up-to-date vascular diagnosis and treatments.
- Vascular Techniques & Technology Thinktank (VAST3®), an annual CME accredited vascular education meeting for vascular specialists focused on problem-solving approaches to complex vascular disease using cutting-edge techniques and technologies.
- V-Healthy®, a grassroots vascular disease education, awareness, and prevention campaign that empowers high school students to understand the impact of vascular disease risks that might affect their vascular health decades later.
- V-Aware® Journal, a vascular education & awareness magazine developed to educate and empower the public to better understand their vascular health.
Dr. Mehta has participated in countless research studies and has been the principal investigator for nearly 50 national and international research trials. He has over 200 vascular publications and book chapters and has presented at hundreds of national and international vascular societies and meetings. Along with having served on dozens of medical advisory and editorial boards, he has served as the President of the Eastern Vascular Society.
Since 2015, Dr. Mehta has been the Director and Co-founder of the Vascular Health Partners of Community Care Physicians. He has 21 years of experience as a board-certified vascular surgeon, has performed over 25,000 vascular surgery and endovascular procedures, and is committed to providing the highest quality of care and personalized care for each of his patients.
