Dr. Kristina Lahtinen-Aley is certified by the American Board of Pediatrics and has fifteen years of experience serving the families of the Capital District. Originally from Plattsburgh, New York, Dr. Lahtinen-Aley earned her bachelor’s degree from Colby College in Waterville, Maine. She attended medical school at Albany Medical College in Albany, New York, where she earned her medical degree before completing her internship and residency at Albany Medical Center. She was awarded the Martha L. Lepow Pediatric Service Award in 2013.
Fueled by the desire to help others, Dr. Lahtinen-Aley wanted to be a doctor from a very young age. With an older sister who suffered from Cystic Fibrosis, she was able to witness firsthand the care, professionalism, and drive displayed by the many physicians who treated her sister. Those experiences in her youth continue to drive her today as she cares for her patients with compassion and respect.
Together with her husband and three children, Dr. Lahtinen-Aley enjoys traveling as well as taking advantage of the many outdoor activities the Capital District offers including skiing, golf, and swimming. When not participating herself, you will likely find her proudly cheering on her kids on the sidelines.
