Kayla Tabor

MD

Biography

Dr. Kayla Tabor received her medical degree from Tulane University School of Medicine in New Orleans, Louisiana. She began her studies at Duke University in Durham, North Carolina, earning a Bachelor of Arts in statistical science and a Bachelor of Arts in religious studies. Dr. Tabor completed her internship and obstetrics and gynecology residency at Albany Medical College in Albany, New York. She is a member of the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists and the American Association of Gynecologic Laparoscopists.

Dr. Tabor wanted to be a doctor since she was in elementary school. She became interested in OBGYN due to the long-term relationship with patients and the opportunity to share some of life’s most memorable moments with them. Although her favorite part of being an obstetrician and gynecologist is delivering babies, Dr. Tabor enjoys helping her patients navigate important milestones throughout their lives, including pregnancy and menopause. She strives to give patients the information they need to make the most informed medical decisions about their bodies and health. Dr. Tabor says, “With social media, there is a lot of misinformation online, so my goal is to equip patients with the facts so they can anticipate changes in their body and make the best possible choices regarding their healthcare.”

Dr. Tabor cares for patients at all stages of life. Whether seeing patients for annual exams or carefully listening to patients during a problem visit, she is eager to make patients feel comfortable, respected, and heard. She views herself and each of her patients as a doctor-patient team with the goal of working together – understanding each patient’s unique set of values, goals, priorities, and history – such that together, they can optimize the patient’s well-being and empower them to make well-informed medical decisions.

Dr. Tabor grew up in the suburbs of Denver, Colorado. Although she has lived all over the US, she came to the Albany area for residency and decided to stay in the area due to the strong social network and livability of the Capital Region. Dr. Tabor enjoys jigsaw puzzles, board games, international travel, and staying active by biking and running.
