Kate Winchester

FNP-C

Biography

Kate Winchester, FNP-C, is a nurse practitioner specializing in internal medicine and caring for adult patients. Her background in emergency nursing first sparked her passion for helping people through their most challenging moments. Still, during her first primary care rotation, she discovered a new side of medicine that quickly became just as meaningful.

Kate was drawn to primary care because of the opportunity to build lasting relationships with patients and make a positive difference in their health over time. She believes some of the most rewarding moments in medicine come from simply taking the time to sit down with a patient, listen to their concerns, and understand what matters most to them.

Her approach to care is grounded in compassion, autonomy, dignity, and health equity. Kate believes caring for patients means caring for the whole person, not simply treating a disease or condition. She strives to create an inclusive and affirming environment where patients from all backgrounds feel safe, respected, heard, and empowered to participate in their healthcare.

Kate earned her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from the University of New England in Portland, Maine, and her Master of Science in Nursing from St. John Fisher University in Rochester, New York. She is a board-certified Family Nurse Practitioner and a member of the American Association of Nurse Practitioners.

Outside of medicine, Kate is a mom to identical twin girls. She is passionate about healthcare as a human right, disability and reproductive justice, and community-based mutual aid. She also enjoys reading, crafting, board games, and tabletop role-playing games.
