EMR Upgrade throughout the weekend: CCP will be completing a scheduled upgrade to our electronic medical record (EMR) system to help enhance and support your care experience. Our practices remain accessible, on-call providers continue to be available, and Latham Urgent Care will remain open for urgent medical needs. Most of this work is happening behind the scenes. If you receive care this weekend, you likely won’t notice any difference, other than occasionally confirming information to ensure we have the most accurate details for your care. We appreciate your patience.

 

If you visit Urgent Care this weekend, it would be helpful to bring a current list of your medications. You should also expect paper prescriptions rather than electronic prescriptions during portions of the upgrade. Any other office-specific changes or instructions will be communicated directly by your practice, if needed. Please check your practice’s website for the latest updates.

Biography

Dr. Karyn Hughes is board certified in pediatrics. She completed her pediatrics residency program as well as her chief residency at the University of Connecticut/CT Children’s Medical Center. Upon completing her education and training, Dr. Hughes returned home to the Capital Region to join CapitalCare Pediatrics Troy. She was always drawn to the resiliency of children when they’re sick and watching each one recover to a healthier version of themselves.

One thing Dr. Hughes truly loves is seeing her patients’ personalities emerge and grow as they become older and develop from infancy to adolescence.

Having a special interest in lactation and breastfeeding support, Dr. Hughes became a Certified Lactation Counselor to further help her patients and their families.

Outside of her work, Dr. Hughes enjoys crafting, kayaking in the warmer months, and spending as much time as possible with her husband and three children.
