James Saperstone

MD, FAAP

Biography

After earning his Doctor of Medicine at the University of Virginia School of Medicine, Dr. James Saperstone has spent over 40 years practicing in the field of pediatrics. He completed his residency at Albany Medical Center, focusing on pediatrics, and is certified by the American Board of Pediatrics. He serves as the Associate Medical Director for the Mohawk Valley Medical Association.

After my adult medicine rotation, I knew I didn’t want to spend my career caring for anyone older than I was. I didn’t want to be reminded of what age does to the body, and I’ve always felt at home when dealing with kids.

His special interest includes the judicious use of antibiotics and focusing on mental health in adolescents. Dr. Saperstone loves making a difference in people’s lives and seeing his patients grow into adulthood.

Medicine isn’t his only passion; music is a huge part of Dr. Saperstone’s life. He went to Woodstock and LOVES anything Beatles. One of his joys is sharing the experiences of life with his wife of over 45 years and watching his grandchildren grow.
