James has experience working with both adults and children individually, in groups, recreationally, and with families and couples. He has provided psychoeducation and treatment in the following: stress management, neurological imbalances, traumatic experiences, substance use, and various mood disorders, as well as a variety of thought disorders. James brings experience working in many areas of the mental health field, including outpatient clinics, residential treatment centers, and correctional facilities, to CCP Integrated Behavioral Health.
James was always attracted to behavioral health but often found himself working in settings that separated physical behavior from mental health. James’ interests lie in building awareness around the brain-body connection. One of his career goals is to educate people on how our behavioral patterns can affect our overall health and wellness. His favorite part of behavioral health treatment is helping to increase the quality of life by providing people with the knowledge and skills to manage life stressors, diseases, and symptoms strategically.
James is highly invested in the martial arts community as an instructor for adults and children. He incorporates mindfulness practices and various breathing tactics for managing the stress response in athletes. He is also an avid athlete and an active mixed martial arts competitor. James primarily studies Brazilian jiu-jitsu and Muay Thai boxing and has traveled across much of the United States for competition! Outside this, he enjoys cooking, learning, and traveling. James’ travels have brought him to Egypt, Jordan, and the Netherlands. He has also seen Israel, Canada, Germany, and England.
