Dr. Eric Burdge is a resident physician at Albany Family Medicine in Albany, NY. His interest in medicine began while shadowing his pediatrician in Clifton Park. NY while volunteering with his local EMS agency. During this, he learned how a medical career would allow him to explore his love for science while also providing the joy he finds in building relationships with others. Dr. Burdge studied biology at Le Moyne College in Syracuse, NY. At Le Moyne, he developed a passion for serving those in need, especially the homeless and hungry. It was because of those experiences that he decided to pursue primary care. From there, he moved downstate to attend the New York University Long Island School of Medicine in Mineola, NY. As a medical student, Dr. Burdge served those without access to health insurance as a leader of a student-run free clinic and served in elected roles to advocate for student and physician wellness. Additionally, he performed research in the maternal-fetal medicine, endocrinology, and psychiatry fields. Ultimately, Dr. Burdge decided to pursue family medicine as his specialty because it will enable him to continue developing his interests in primary care, obstetrics, pediatrics, health systems science, and advocacy. When not caring for patients, you’ll likely find him trying out a new recipe, watching a Disney movie with my nieces and nephew, or exploring local history.
