My favorite part of being a nurse practitioner in primary care is getting to know my patients and creating a relationship with them. I love knowing about their families, interests, etc. It really makes a difference in patient care and makes patients feel more comfortable.
Ellen Regal is a board-certified family nurse practitioner who received her master’s degree in nursing from Sage Graduate School. She is a member of the Nurse Practitioner of New York State. Ellen cares for adult patients at Community Care Physicians Internal Medicine – Delmar.
Ellen knew she had a passion for nursing ever since she was a child as it runs in her family! Both her mother and maternal grandmother were nurses, so she grew up with healthcare all around her. Ellen even had a play doctor kit and would give “injections” to her family members. This was when she realized she had a true passion for helping others when they are in need, as well as always being up and about!
In addition to diabetes care and hypertension management, Ellen has a special place in her heart for women’s health. After working in labor and delivery at St. Peter’s for several years, she developed a true passion for working with women, especially when she can relate to them and what they’re going through.
Ellen loves spending time with her dog, Henry. She stays active by hiking in the Adirondacks with a balance of reading, cooking, and baking up some delicious treats!
