Biography

Bria Amedore is a board-certified family nurse practitioner and a member of the Nurse Practitioner Association of New York. She received her Master of Science in nursing, family nurse practitioner from SUNY Polytechnic Institute in Utica, NY, and began her studies at Liberty University in Lynchburg, VA, earning her Bachelor of Science in nursing. She is interested in disease prevention, women’s health care, and pediatric care.

From a young age, Bria found herself caring for and helping others. She decided as a teenager to pursue nursing when that hobby became a passion. A pivotal moment that has shaped her experience was working as a travel nurse across the country during the COVID-19 pandemic. This experience, where she witnessed firsthand the immense need for quality healthcare and human connection, reinforced her commitment to providing compassionate care and supporting people through their most vulnerable moments. It also demonstrated her adaptability and dedication to patient care, as she was willing to step into a challenging and rapidly changing environment to help those in need.

Bria’s pediatric and NICU nurse work has fostered a deep, compassionate, empathetic approach to patient care while understanding the importance of communication. Her care philosophy is to take a proactive approach to one’s care to help prevent avoidable health issues down the road. She sees the patient as a whole, recognizing how physical, mental, and emotional needs are interconnected and affect their overall well-being. The most important thing she does when caring for patients is to actively listen, develop a partnership, and see them as individuals. By taking the time to listen and work together, Bria believes she can better understand and uphold their concerns, values, and goals. This allows her to develop effective, personalized care strategies that suit their needs best. What Bria loves most about her job is building relationships with patients and being someone they can trust through life’s biggest challenges and smallest accomplishments. She feels privileged to help patients unlock their potential and encourage them to participate actively in their healthcare. She says, “Seeing them connect the dots in their health journey and feeling empowered to make positive changes is both rewarding and fulfilling.”

Bria is originally from the Schenectady area. What drew her to practice medicine in this area is knowing the great family care she received here and wanting to give back that resource to her community. Bria’s personal interests, such as cooking and exploring new restaurants, traveling to see friends and family, going to concerts, and skiing, contribute to her well-rounded approach to patient care. These activities not only provide her with a balanced lifestyle but also enrich her understanding of her patients’ lives and experiences.
