Ashlee Houser is a certified family nurse practitioner and a member of the American Association of Nurse Practitioners, the American Nurses Association, and the Nurse Practitioner Association of New York State. She received her Master of Science in nursing from the State University of New York Polytechnic Institute in Utica, NY. Ashlee also holds a Bachelor of Science in nursing from Western Governors University in Salt Lake City, UT. She began her studies at Samaritan Hospital School of Nursing in Troy, NY, earning her associate’s degree. Ashlee is particularly interested in pediatrics. She previously worked in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) for over six years.
Ashlee has always been interested in healthcare. She grew up in a family of firefighters, and watching them help and care for people always attracted her to the profession. What she loves most about the medical field is getting to know and connecting with patients. Ashlee’s patients are more than just a number to her; she is genuinely interested in their needs. She believes listening and understanding are the most important things when caring for patients. She says, “I believe in the power of empathy and compassion. I am committed to providing care that respects the individuality and dignity of every patient. I believe all persons are entitled to equitable care regardless of their age, gender, sexual orientation, or race. As a nurse practitioner, I will strive to provide the best care possible to all patients and work to ensure that all patients in my care feel comfortable and safe while with me.”
Ashlee’s roots are deeply embedded in Poestenkill, NY, where she was born, raised, and continues to reside. Her desire to contribute to her community led her to pursue a career in healthcare. Beyond her professional life, Ashlee is a dedicated troop leader for her daughter’s Girl Scout troop. She cherishes quality time with her husband and three children, enjoys traveling, and is an avid reader. You might often find Ashlee at a softball or baseball field, cheering on her children during their games.
