Columbia Development Companies and Community Care Physicians break ground on a 60,000 square-foot state of the art Medical Arts Complex
On Wednesday October 14th, representatives from Columbia Development Companies, Community Care Physicians (CCP) and the Town of Clifton Park broke ground for the new two-story 60,000 square-foot medical arts complex located at 1783 Route 9, Clifton Park. The new $15 million facility, to be built by BBL Medical Facilities, will consolidate several CCP offices to better serve the community by streamlining operations at a central location.
Community Care’s on-site specialties will include Primary Care (Family Medicine, Internal Medicine, Pediatrics), OB/GYN, Urgent Care, Medical Imaging, Physical Therapy, Urology, Lab and an on-site workout room. About 80 Community Care employees will be based at the new facility, including 25 providers. Community Care is leasing almost 44,000 square feet of the building. Also in the facility are Albany Medical Center and Brass Eye Center.
“CCP has been able to create another centralized location that serves as a one-stop shop for patients, for an improved patient experience,” said Richard Scanu, Chief Operating Officer/Chief Financial Officer for Community Care Physicians. “Our physicians can work better together; patients can access important integrated medical services; and the location is within easy reach of our current patients and of those who will join the Community Care family as we grow.”
Community Care’s model is to create convenient access to multiple specialties in one location. The Community Care practices all share a centralized electronic medical record making care as seamless as possible for labs, imaging, and internal referrals. Patients can also connect with the physicians electronically using an online, secure patient portal. Columbia and BBL most recently built a similar medical office building for Community Care at the Rensselaer Technology Park in North Greenbush. CCP has other consolidated locations in Delmar, Latham, and Niskayuna.
“Columbia is proud to again partner with Community Care Physicians for this new facility,” said Richard Rosen Vice President of Columbia Development. “The positive reaction to this project speaks to the need for this facility here in this community. Patients will find outstanding care here, in a new, modern, efficient facility.”
The following practices will relocate from nearby locations in Clifton Park to the new consolidated building: Clifton Park Family Medicine, Clifton Park Pediatrics, Community Care Family Medicine, Community Care Internal Medicine – Clifton Park, The Office of Dr. Kathleen Downey, Capital Region Women’s Care (formerly OB/GYN Health Center Associates), Urological Institute of Northeastern New York, Community Care Physical Therapy, ImageCare Medical Imaging, LabCare. The building is expected to open July 2016.
