Dr. Tessa LaBounty is a board-certified family physician and a member of the American Academy of Family Physicians. She received her medical degree from SUNY Upstate in Syracuse, NY, and completed a family medicine residency at Ellis Medicine in Schenectady, NY. Dr. LaBounty began her studies at Manhattan College in Bronx, NY, earning her Bachelor of Science in biology.
Dr. LaBounty went to college with the desire to pursue medicine. She always loved science but wanted a career where she could work with people. Dr. LaBounty loves being able to care for patients of all ages, getting to know her patients and their families, and being the primary care provider for generations of families. She believes communication, making the patient feel comfortable, and getting to know the patient as a person are most important. What brings Dr. LaBounty the most satisfaction professionally is when patients feel safe enough to speak openly about their concerns. Throughout all of her training, her biggest takeaway is the importance of continued education and staying up to date on new guidelines to give patients the best care possible.
Dr. LaBounty is originally from Poestenkill, NY. Outside work, she loves trying new restaurants, spending time with family and friends, going to the gym, and traveling.
