Dr. Raisa Saleh is a resident physician at Albany Family Medicine in Albany, NY. After a somewhat nomadic childhood, living in five countries before age ten, she completed her secondary schooling in Pakistan. She went on to attend medical school at the Aga Khan University Medical College, also in Pakistan, where her experiences caring for a diverse, underserved patient population fueled her passion for primary care. Through volunteering at health education sessions and medical outreach camps, Dr. Saleh could appreciate how trust, consistent communication, and a solid connection to the community were vital to empowering patients to take charge of their health. The broad scope of family medicine practice further cemented her desire to pursue this field, and she has since developed special interests in women’s health, geriatric medicine, and healthcare for marginalized communities. Outside of practicing medicine, Dr. Saleh enjoys reading and practicing yoga. She also loves to travel and explore new cities with her family and friends.
