Dr. Phuong Vinh is a bilingual medical doctor fluent in French and Vietnamese. He is board certified in radiology and earned his medical degree from the University of Chicago Pritzker School of Medicine. He began his undergraduate studies at the University of Michigan, where he was a Phi Beta Kappa graduate earning a Bachelor of Science with a double major in biophysics and mathematics. Dr. Vinh completed a diagnostic radiology residency at the University of Michigan Hospital. He also completed a fellowship in MRI at the University of Texas Medical Branch Hospital. Dr. Vinh practices radiology at Albany Medical Center and ImageCare Medical Imaging.
While in medical school, Dr. Vinh was most attracted to the diagnostic aspect of medicine, realizing that his technical and analytical background, combined with a love of learning, would allow him to offer unique insight to help patients. What he enjoys most about his work is working at Albany Medical Center is consulting with various clinical and surgical specialists. He also enjoys teaching residents and medical students.
Dr. Vinh is interested in body imaging, musculoskeletal imaging, and women’s imaging. He enjoys working with maternal-fetal medicine specialists by performing high-risk obstetrics MRIs and ultra-fast fetal MRIs to evaluate fetal anomalies.
Outside of medicine, Dr. Vinh enjoys living in upstate NY, taking in the four seasons with his wife. He also enjoys traveling, photography, reading, playing competitive tennis, and skiing.
