Dr. Louis Ianniello is a board-certified family physician. He received his Doctor of Medicine at St. George’s University in Grenada, West Indies, and completed his residency at St. Clare’s Hospital, Schenectady, in 1992. Dr. Ianniello served as a Regional Medical Director for the Capital District Physicians’ Health Plan from 1996 to 2000. He has a particular interest in disease prevention. Through his many years of practicing medicine, Dr. Ianniello learned that he doesn’t wish to take any medications he prescribes. He wants his patients to feel this way because there is a way out for most of them, and that’s through diet and exercise.
Dr. Ianniello decided at a very young age that he wanted to be a doctor. He still has a paper he wrote as a 7th grader stating his goal was to be a doctor (or an NFL running back)! Dr. Ianniello knew he wanted a career in medicine because he thought working in medicine is a great way to spend a life, and he still feels this way today. He loves having the unique vantage of getting to know so many great people and being continually amazed at how much he learns by just listening to his patients. As a physician, Dr. Ianniello feels he is in a privileged position and tries to remember to feel grateful for that every day, every hour, and every minute.
Dr. Ianniello and his wife started a nonprofit known as the Quest for Grace Foundation. During the 15+ years that it has been in existence, they have raised close to a million dollars for foster children! Together they have provided thousands of foster children with clothing, toys, and sorely needed goods. The foundation aims to inspire hope within them. His wife is the president and spearhead of the foundation, and he feels blessed to be married to her! Outside of helping and treating the community, Dr. Ianniello loves to hike, snowshoe, cross country, walk, bicycle, and, most of all, spending time with family.
