Dr. Leonard Leonidas is double board certified in pediatrics and internal medicine. He received his medical degree from Tufts University in Boston, Massachusetts, and completed his internship and residency in internal medicine and pediatrics at Albany Medical Center in Albany, New York. Dr. Leonidas attended Rochester Institute of Technology in Rochester, New York, and the University of Maine in Orono, Maine, for his undergraduate education. It was during college when he decided to pursue a career in medicine. Dr. Leonidas has always been inspired by his dad, who is also a pediatrician. He chose dual specialties of internal medicine and pediatrics because he enjoys seeing patients of all ages. Dr. Leonidas has professional interests in prevention and wellness and forming relationships with patients. His favorite part of the job is the relationships established with his patients over time; he says that is what makes the job interesting and fun. In many instances now, Dr. Leonidas has had the good fortune of meeting and caring for multiple generations of a family. Additionally, living in the same community from which many of his patients hail adds another dimension to the relationship.
Outside of the office, Dr. Leonidas enjoys long-distance running, so much so that he’s even completed several marathons! He is part of a local running team and hopes to qualify for the Boston Marathon and run that at least once in his life. He enjoys camping, hiking, and kayaking with his sons. Dr. Leonidas is also a member of his church’s choir.
