Ashley Apruzzese, MD, FAAP, is a board-certified pediatrician dedicated to providing exceptional care to children and young adults up to the age of 22.
A native of Scotia-Glenville, Dr. Apruzzese graduated as the valedictorian of her high school class before entering the prestigious Siena/Albany Medical College Humanities and Service-Based Program. She earned her medical degree from Albany Medical College and completed her pediatric residency at Stony Brook University Medical Center on Long Island. She then returned to the Capital Region to be closer to her family and to serve the community that shaped her.
Dr. Apruzzese’s passion for pediatrics stems from her lifelong love of working with children and her deep appreciation for the sciences, particularly biology. During her medical school rotations, she found her true calling in pediatrics, where she felt happiest and most fulfilled.
Her approach to pediatric care focuses on direct communication with her patients, regardless of their age. She believes in empowering children and adolescents by actively engaging with them and ensuring they feel heard and valued. Dr. Apruzzese prioritizes preventative medicine and enjoys supporting first-time parents as they navigate their new roles. She is also passionate about promoting healthy lifestyles from an early age.
Dr. Apruzzese is a member of the American Academy of Pediatrics and the Capital District Pediatric Society. Throughout her career, she has participated in multiple service trips to Uganda, working in schools and medical clinics to provide much needed care to underserved communities.
Outside of medicine, Dr. Apruzzese loves traveling and exploring new places. She enjoys spending quality time with her husband and three children, embracing the joys of family life.
