Dr. Dennis Basila is a board certified Pediatrician at Schodack Internal Medicine and Pediatrics in Castleton. He attended the University of Notre Dame in Indiana for undergraduate studies and earned his medical degree from St. Georges University in Grenada. Dr. Basila completed his residency in Pediatrics at Albany Medical Center, where he served as Pediatric Chief Resident and instructor of Pediatrics. Following his residency, Dr. Basila was awarded a fellowship in Pediatric Critical Care at Vanderbilt Children’s Hospital in Tennessee. He then began in private practice in Tennessee, before returning to Albany to practice at the Children’s Hospital at Albany Medical Center. He served as Assistant Professor of Pediatrics at Albany Medical Center and was the pediatric residency program director at Albany Medical Center from 2012 to 2016. Throughout his career, Dr. Basila has served on many professional committees and has been a part of many organizations, including Smile Train and Albany Plastics International’s medical mission to Dominican Republic in 2007.
Dr. Basila grew up in Cohoes, attended LaSalle Institute in Troy for high school, and is married with 3 sons and 2 dogs. He welcomes new patients from newborns to patients age 18. Please call to schedule a time to meet him or for an appointment.
