Lead Poisoning Review with Dr. Anthony Malone

Lead in paint, soil, air, or water is invisible to the naked eye and has no smell. The harmful effects of childhood lead exposure can be prevented. The key is to keep children from coming in contact with lead. Primary care providers should play a vital role in the prevention of lead poisoning.

On December 9, 2021, Anthony Malone, MD, hosted a virtual CME program to discuss lead poisoning.

Learning Objectives:

  • Be familiar with the neurodevelopmental effects of lead in children.
  • Understand the most important avenues children may be exposed to lead.
  • Understand where the next efforts in lead safety in children need to be.
