CCP is pleased to announce the addition of three new board certified surgeons to Community Care General Surgery. Please welcome Dr. Barbara Brazis, Dr. Andrew Isenberg, and Dr. Kelly Dennin.
Community Care General Surgery now has two convenient locations in Latham at 713 Troy-Schenectady Road Suite 310 and in Delmar at 250 Delaware Avenue Suite 207. They also provide on-site endoscopy and colonoscopy services at CCP’s Endoscopy and Surgical Care Suite in Latham. The Endoscopy and Surgical Care Suite has pre and post procedure areas and patients receive care for an office based, not hospital based, copayment. Meet the new members of our surgical team!
Barbara Brazis, DO, FACS
Dr. Brazis is a board certified general surgeon, specializing in general, laparoscopic, robotic, and breast surgery. She completed her undergraduate studies at Western Maryland College, where she earned her Bachelor of Arts degree in Physical Education. She worked for several years as a teacher and was recognized as Employee of the Year. During this time, Dr. Brazis enrolled in Goucher College, where she completed a post baccalaureate pre-medical program, before earning her medical degree from the College of Osteopathic Medicine at the University of New England. Dr. Brazis completed her internship training at the Brighton Medical Center in Portland, Maine, and her surgical residency at Albany Medical Center Hospital, where she served as Chief Resident and was awarded the Golden Apple – Resident Teaching Award. Dr Brazis is certified by the American Board of Surgery and is an active volunteer in her community. She has served on several hospital committees, has coached local soccer, basketball and little league teams, is Deacon of a local church, and is also a member of the Western Maryland College Sports Hall of Fame and North Hanford High School Sports Hall of Fame. She volunteers at the Albany City Mission and currently serves as St. Peter's Hospital Chief of General Surgery.
Andrew Isenberg, MD, FACS
Dr. Isenberg is a board certified general surgeon. He completed his undergraduate degree at Cornell University in Ithaca, NY, where he received a B.S. in Microbiology. He then earned his medical degree from Boston University School of Medicine. Dr. Isenberg completed his residency training in Surgery at the Albany Medical Center Surgery Program, where he served as Chief Resident. Following his residency, Dr. Isenberg completed a Transplantation Fellowship at Albany Medical Center and then a Pancreas Transplantation Fellowship at the University of Minnesota. He is active in the surgical community, participating in many medical committees, presenting on surgical topics and authoring several publications. Dr. Isenberg has also served as Assistant Professor of Surgery at Albany Medical Center and Clinical Assistant Professor of Surgery at SUNY Update, Syracuse, NY. He is certified by the American Board of Surgery and is a Fellow of the American College of Surgery, a Diplomat of the National Board of Medical Examiners and a Diplomat of the American Board of Surgery.
Kelly Dennin, MD, FACS
Dr. Dennin is a board certified general surgeon. She completed her undergraduate education at Union College in Schenectady, NY, where she received her B.S. in Biology. She then attended RPI in Troy for her Masters of Science degree in Biology, before earning her medical degree from Albany Medical College. Dr. Dennin completed her general surgery residency at Albany Medical Center, where she received several awards and recognition for her outstanding academic and professional qualities and excellence in medical student education. She is active in her medical community, serving on several committees for local hospitals and insurance companies, and has special interest in running, dancing, reading, bicycling, and cross country skiing. She has served in the past as Chief of Surgery, Chief of Staff, and Department Chief of General Surgery at Albany Memorial Hospital.
