CCP to Move its Flagship Location to New Medical Arts Building at 4-6 Autopark Drive in Latham

Latham, NY — Community Care Physicians (CCP), the largest independent multispecialty medical group in the Capital Region, NY announced today it will relocate its Latham location from the Capital Region Health Park (711-713 Troy-Schenectady Road) to the new state-of-the-art multispecialty medical arts building being designed and approved for 4-6 Autopark Drive.

CCP will be the primary tenant in the new three-story, 260,000-square-foot health park located off Route 9 in Latham. Once completed, the building will be the largest, private medical care facility in the Capital Region. All of CCP’s services currently in the Capital Region Health Park will move two miles away to Autopark Drive. The new facility will allow for additional services, greater access for patients, and growth for CCP. Furthermore, the building can accommodate all of CCP’s technical and administrative support services, which are currently spread out between Latham and Colonie locations.

“We, unfortunately, outgrew the Capital Region Health Park space, but we knew we couldn’t leave Latham. This is our hub, our home,” said Joan Hayner, Chief Operating Officer for CCP. “We needed to find a location close by that enabled us to expand while remaining convenient for patients and our staff. Because the specialists are still co-located with their primary care physicians in a health park, it’s easy for patients. They already know the staff and the area. It’s familiar and comfortable. Also, this health park offers more opportunity for our employees and specialties to collaborate for patient care, and we’re happy to consolidate our administrative function into one location.”

Specialties moving from the Capital Region Health Park include primary care, OB/GYN, lab, urgent care, medical imaging, radiation oncology, urology, interventional radiology, vascular surgery, thyroid health, back and pain management, general surgery and endoscopy care, physical therapy, audiology, podiatry, and dermatology. CCP plans to add rheumatology, an enlarged AAAASF procedure space to enable more surgical specialties, and an expanded cancer care program with medical and radiation oncology treatment combined in the new building. Additional specialties may be added in the future.

There will also be employee space to allow for collaboration, on-site cafés for patients and employees, more green space, electric car charging stations, heated sidewalks at the main entrance, and several access points for patient drop-off.

“Our intent is to make healthy options for employees to get out, recreate outside, and be safe inside, especially in our post-COVID world.  This building will also bring additional specialties not yet in Latham,” said Ms. Hayner.

CCP has six other health parks across the Capital Region. The Capital Region Health Park in Latham opened in 2002, and CCP has been modeling its facilities after that health park in key regions ever since. Ms. Hayner stated, “CCP knew the benefit of a health park early on. More than ever, convenience is important to patients, and comprehensive, integrated primary care and specialty care need to be available where patients can access it. This is one more way we’re meeting the needs of our community.”

The future health park will be visible from the Northway and easily accessible by car and public transportation. CCP plans to move into the building in phases. The project, being developed by Columbia Development, has a target completion of all phases in late 2023/early 2024. The facility will be built by BBL Medical Facilites and designed by HCP Architects. The final design is being reviewed by the Town of Colonie.
