Community Care Physicians (CCP) is pleased to announce the appointment of Dr. Ronald Musto as its new Chief Executive Officer, effective January 1, 2025. Dr. Musto succeeds Dr. Shirish Parikh, founder of CCP and radiologist who has served as CEO since the organization’s inception in 1984.
This leadership transition upholds a longstanding CCP tradition of appointing a practicing physician to the role of CEO, ensuring leadership decisions remain deeply rooted in the patient experience. Dr. Musto, a practicing internist in Troy, NY, brings decades of clinical insight and administrative expertise to the position. “As practicing physicians, we experience firsthand how decisions affect patients, providers, and staff in our offices. This perspective is integral to guiding CCP’s mission of delivering exceptional patient-centered care,” said Dr. Musto.
Dr. Musto has been a valued member of CCP since the early 1990s, when his practice, Capital Healthcare Associates, became one of the first primary care groups to join the organization. Over the years, he has held several leadership positions, including Chief Medical Officer, Executive Vice President, Deputy CEO, and Lab Director of LabCare, CCP’s exclusive complex laboratory. His appointment marks the culmination of a carefully planned succession process initiated several years ago.
Reflecting on his new role, Dr. Musto remarked, “My primary responsibility as CEO is to facilitate patient care. This has always been the core focus of CCP’s leadership. I am fortunate to have the support of an exceptional administrative team, many of whom I’ve worked alongside for 10 to 15 years. Together, we will continue to prioritize expanding services, improving access, and recruiting top-tier providers and staff to meet the needs of our patients.”
Dr. Parikh, who will remain an active member of CCP as radiologist and Board member, expressed his confidence in Dr. Musto’s leadership. “Ron has dedicated his career to advancing patient care and is an exceptional leader. I am confident that he will bring CCP into the next phase of evolution,” said Dr. Parikh.
For over 40 years, CCP has grown into the largest independent multispecialty medical group in the region and has remained steadfast in its dedication to putting the patient at the center of care. Under Dr. Musto’s leadership, the organization will continue this proud tradition, ensuring the same high standards of care and service that have defined CCP since its founding.
