2025 Peabody Award
The Peabody Award was named in honor of Francis W. Peabody, a physician, teacher, and humanitarian who famously said, “…the secret of the care of the patient is in caring for the patient.” This is awarded to those who go the extra mile and are nominated by their patients, peers, and the public. The Peabody Award is given to physicians who continue to make a difference in the lives of those they serve, whether it’s through life-saving treatments, compassionate care, or advancing health care solutions. This year, we are ecstatic to announce that CCP’s very own Dr. Alexander Ford from CapitalCare Family Practice Rotterdam has won the 2025 Peabody Award. Dr. Ford is board certified by the American Board of Family Medicine and the American Osteopathic Board of Family Physicians and is a registered dietitian. He loves empowering patients to take control of their health through patient education. Moreover, he believes reflective listening, motivational interviewing, reviewing medical history, validating patient concerns, and patient empowerment are crucial when caring for his patients. Dr. Ford practices a holistic, whole-body approach to patient management that utilizes therapeutic lifestyle interventions as a primary modality for treating chronic conditions and preventing disease. His nutritional counseling skill set and expertise in osteopathic manipulative medicine and osteopathic manipulative techniques are additional patient options to assist with pain management, functionality, and injury prevention.
