Schyler Smith

Listen with curiosity. Speak with honesty. Act with integrity.

Schyler Smith is a certified physician assistant specializing in the care of adult patients. She received her Master of Science in Physician Assistant Studies from Clarkson University in Potsdam, NY. Schyler began her studies at Syracuse University in Syracuse, NY, earning a Bachelor of Science in biology and a minor in psychology. She is a member of the American Academy of Physician Assistants and the New York State Society of PAs. Schyler is particularly interested in health promotion and disease prevention.

Schyler’s passion for medicine ignited when she became the patient herself. She grew up with severe scoliosis and had to be in a 24/7 back brace at a young age. Schyler developed a relationship with her primary care provider at that time due to the frequent visits. Her PCP’s support got her through one of the toughest times in her life and made her realize the significant impact a health care provider can have on a patient. Schyler loves getting to know the entire patient; and their medical, social, and physical needs. She believes integrity is most important when caring for patients and values the importance of the provider-patient relationship. Schyler will work with each patient’s best interest in mind to achieve optimal health outcomes.

Schyler grew up in Guilderland, NY. After graduation, she knew she wanted to return to the Capital District to practice as she grew passionate about the patient population through her experience as an ER technician before PA school. Schyler enjoys spending time with her family during her free time, as family is everything to her. She is also very passionate about rescue animals and loves to spend spare moments with her tabby cat, Callie Mae, and dog, Brady.
